| During December 2005, I spent considerable time creating a web page-based version of the Jeopardy! game that I've used for years to review material in my English classes. I call it High School Jeopardy! My game is based on a couple of Jeopardy! games already on the Internet, most notably Chemical Jeopardy! by Steve Marsden and Jack Donnell’s game, which he calls JackPardy. The game plays just like the TV version, with authentic graphics and sound. It has a hidden Daily Double and a Final Jeopardy! clue. You can run it from your desktop computer and/or display the pages on a TV. Click here to try the game out for yourself. All you need to do (aside from writing the clues) is to customize the categories on the game board and the 30 clue files using a web page editor like Dreamweaver or FrontPage. I've provided written instructions that explain what to do. To get started, click here to download the package of files that make up the game. Included are all the HTML, images, sounds, and instructions plus the authentic clue font. Installing this font is optional but doing so will give the clue screens an authentic look. I also made a version with some built-in scoring options that works well with the right monitor settings. Click here to see it. It’s included in the download package. |
Note: If some pages won't open properly on your computer, set your Internet Options to enable multimedia and javascript actions. |
